Bankai Vision & Translation, Contacts, Credits Page & Recurring-Event Editing

This week Bankai grows up: it can now look at your screen, translate as you speak, learn your personal vocabulary, and let you share or retry recordings. We also launched a Contacts directory with import, a Credits page where you can see your balance and top up, Google-Calendar-style per-occurrence editing for recurring events, and a new Templates Center for boards.

New Features​

Bankai — Vision, Translation, Personal Dictionary & Sharing​

A big round of voice improvements lands this week (#2965):

  • Vision mode — Bankai can now look at your screen and answer questions about it ("what's this error?", "explain this chart"), capturing and reading the screen alongside your voice
  • Live translation — set an output language and Bankai translates as you speak, so you can dictate in one language and have it come out in another
  • Personal dictionary — Bankai learns the names, jargon, and acronyms you use, and can add new terms automatically as it watches your corrections, so it gets your vocabulary right over time
  • Strict or soft language enforcement — when you pick a specific language Bankai sticks to it; when you leave it on auto, it follows whatever you actually spoke
  • Retry preserves the mode — retrying a recording now keeps the original mode and always shows the mode picker
  • Better Windows shortcuts — friendlier direct-mode keys and fixes so pressing the shortcut no longer pops the Windows Start menu
  • Personalized stats — the onboarding wizard now measures your real typing-vs-speaking speed and shows your personal time saved, and you can retake it or share your stats

Contacts — A Workspace Directory​

A new Contacts area to keep track of the people you work with (#2971):

  • Contacts in Settings — view and manage your workspace contacts from a dedicated settings page
  • Import from CSV — bring contacts in from a CSV file through a background import that doesn't tie up your screen
  • Auto-suggested contacts — people you email or invite to events are automatically remembered as suggested contacts so you don't have to add them by hand

Credits — See Your Balance & Top Up​

A new Credits page that puts your usage in your hands (#2855):

  • Balance at a glance — see your workspace's available credit balance and recent activity in one place
  • Top up anytime — add funds with a credit card, with optional auto-top-up so you never run dry mid-task
  • Transaction history — review every credit, deduction, and top-up, filterable by type and status
  • Low-balance heads-up — get notified before you run low, and your balance updates live across all your open devices

Calendar — Edit & Delete Recurring Events by Occurrence​

Recurring events now behave like Google Calendar (#2967):

  • This event, this and following, or all — when you edit or delete a recurring event, choose whether the change applies to just that occurrence, this one and all future ones, or the whole series
  • External calendars stay in sync — Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar correctly update only the occurrence you changed instead of overwriting the whole series

Boards — Form Editor, Bulk Actions & Templates Center​

  • Form editor with autosave & sharing — the form builder now saves automatically, protects against conflicting edits when two people work at once, and has a dedicated Share dialog with a slimmer toolbar (#2948)
  • Bulk add and remove values — select multiple rows and add or remove values across them in one action (#2952)
  • New Templates Center — a redesigned templates experience for starting boards faster, unified into the sidebar (#2916, #2974)

Bug Fixes​

  • Boards — fixed board participant permissions and dashboard sharing so the right people see the right boards (#2968)
  • Boards — view-only members now have correct permissions, and team participants on a board view resolve properly (#2949, #2955)
  • Boards — the "is not" filter for multi-value columns now matches correctly (#2964)
  • Boards — fixed a column reference error when adding rows from a board form (#2959)
  • Drive — public file previews now load their media only when you open the viewer, making shared pages faster (#2858)

Improvements​

  • Plus plan — the paid plan is now consistently called "Plus" across the app and website
  • Faster voice recognition — voice transcription surfaces a more accurate detected language so dictation and translation behave more predictably (#2965)
