Gmail-style Undo Send, Image-to-Image Generation & Contacts Everywhere

This week the inbox gets Gmail-style undo send with instant, optimistic replies, AI image generation learns to edit the image you attach and iterate across turns, and contact details now surface as rich hover cards across your inbox, contacts, and calendar. Bankai's Vision mode got a major polish pass, Bankai is now available on Linux, and Boards gained a dedicated CSV-export permission.

New Features​

Inbox — Gmail-style Undo Send & Instant Replies​

Sending email now feels instant and forgiving (#3002):

  • Undo send — after you hit Send, the composer closes right away and a toaster gives you a few seconds to undo; click Undo and the composer reopens with everything intact — recipients, subject, body, attachments, and your chosen sender
  • Replies appear immediately — when you send a reply, the new message appears at the bottom of the thread straight away instead of after a wait, and the same undo window applies
  • Reply from the right address — replying to an email sent to one of your inbox aliases now sends from that alias by default, with a sender picker to override it

AI Image Generation — Edit Your Own Images & Iterate​

Image generation is now a real image editor (#2984, #2994):

  • Image-to-image — attach an image and ask the AI to change it ("add clouds", "make this more vibrant") instead of only generating from a text prompt
  • Multi-turn editing — follow-up requests build on the image you just made, so you can refine a result step by step
  • Clearer results — generated images render inline (never as a stray link), and when a request is declined you see the model's actual explanation instead of a generic error

Contacts — Rich Details Everywhere​

Contact information now follows you across the app (#3003):

  • Hover for full details — hover a sender in your inbox, a row in Contacts, a calendar participant, or an email recipient chip to see job title, links, addresses, tags, notes, and birthday
  • Create & edit in place — add or edit a contact directly from wherever you spotted them
  • Smart dynamic lists — build contact lists from typed filters (by property, category, or who created them), preview the matching contacts live, and freeze a dynamic list into a fixed one when you want (#2980)

Boards — CSV Export Permission​

  • Let non-admins export — a new "Export view (CSV)" permission lets you grant CSV export of a board view to members who aren't admins, with the export respecting exactly what each person is allowed to see (#3016)

Bug Fixes​

  • Inbox — bulk-deleting or moving thousands of emails in Trash or Spam no longer fails partway through (#3009)
  • Inbox — AI auto-trash now reliably tags and moves emails in a single step, so the "Smart auto trash" label shows up consistently (#3002)
  • Inbox — the AI now learns from moving an email out of Trash by any method (drag, keyboard, or button), not just the dedicated rescue button (#3002)
  • Chat — HEIC images (the default iPhone format) now display correctly in conversations on Chrome-based browsers (#2993)
  • Boards — editing a status option right after dragging to reorder no longer freezes the column edit fields (#2983)
  • Boards — opening the board Settings dialog now closes properly after saving, the menu entry reads "Settings", and renames sync to other people in real time (#2981)
  • Bankai — vision mode now pastes its answer at your cursor when there's somewhere to type, matching how Ask mode behaves (#2990)
  • Bankai — mode-switching shortcuts no longer get stuck on a previous mode; pressing the cycle shortcut now reliably changes modes (#2999)
  • Desktop — the document title (and the desktop window header) no longer goes blank when navigating between pages (#2998)
  • Command Palette & Bankai — one-on-one direct messages are now found in search, typos like "Sydney" still match "Sidney", and ambiguous voice commands show a pick-one dialog on the web (#3021)
  • Snackbars — toast notifications are now high-contrast and readable on every theme again (#3008)

Improvements​

Bankai — Vision Polish & Linux Support​

  • Snappier, smarter Vision — Vision mode starts recording immediately while it captures the screen, adapts capture quality to your display, keeps screenshots on your device, and can auto-route from Omni mode when you ask about your screen (#2995)
  • Vision history with previews — failed or vision recordings show up in your voice history with a clickable screenshot you can open full-size, plus play, download, delete, and retry actions (#2995, #2985)
  • Bankai on Linux — Bankai is now available on the Linux desktop app (#3019)
  • Live shortcut hints — the pill, onboarding wizard, help dialog, and hints now always show your actual key mapping, even after you remap a shortcut (#2989)
  • Cleaner history — empty recordings now show a clear "no words detected" card with a retry button, and accidental sub-3-second taps are dropped instead of cluttering your history (#2985)
  • Your output language follows you — your chosen voice output language is now saved to your account and follows you across devices instead of leaking between teammates (#2986)

Credits​

  • Out-of-credits alert — when your workspace balance reaches zero, a clear alert appears, and the low-balance reminder can be dismissed for a day (#3014)

Editor​

  • Copy & cut block ranges — Cmd/Ctrl+C and Cmd/Ctrl+X now work on a selected range of blocks, and the click-to-select-margin behavior is now restricted to the sides of the editor, matching Notion (#3006)
