Checklist Columns, Granular Board Permissions & a Mobile-Ready Web App

Checklists are now a real board column with Trello-grade behavior, granular board permissions let you control who sees and edits each column, and the web app finally works properly in a mobile browser. You can also share an Ask Copera conversation with teammates, quickly filter your sidebar, and give threads real titles.

New Features​

Checklist Columns​

Checklists are now a first-class column type, not a workaround (#3300):

  • Trello-grade checklists in a cell — up to 200 items per cell with a progress header and bar, inline rename, drag-to-reorder, hover delete, and a chaining add-item input that keeps you typing.
  • Nobody clobbers anybody — each tick, rename, or reorder is sent as its own change, so two people editing the same checklist never overwrite each other. Copera also records who checked an item and when.
  • Hide what's done — a per-column preference hides checked items, with a short grace period so a just-checked item doesn't vanish under your cursor.
  • Works everywhere — filter by complete/not complete/empty, sort by progress, chart completion percentage on dashboards, see checklists inline on Kanban cards, and export/import them as readable text.

Granular Board Permissions​

  • Control access down to the column — board admins can now grant view or edit access on individual columns to specific people, teams, board roles, or workspace roles. The most restrictive rule always wins, and hidden values are stripped from every surface — the grid, the row view, exports, and the Public API (#3274).

A Web App That Works on Your Phone​

A broad responsiveness campaign makes the web app usable in mobile browsers (#3312):

  • Row dialog — switch between properties and comments with a header toggle; both stay loaded, so drafts survive.
  • Full-screen where it matters — settings dialogs, the export dialog, the import wizard, email compose, the threads/mentions/notification centers, and the AI rail all go full-screen on phones.
  • Nothing overflows — around twenty fixed-width popovers and panels across boards, chat, docs, Drive, and Tempo are now clamped to the viewport.
  • Get the app — a dismissible banner points mobile browser visitors to the Copera app on the App Store and Google Play (#3315).

Share AI Conversations​

  • Show a teammate what you asked — conversation owners can share an Ask Copera thread with members or teams as view-only. Viewers see a read-only thread with a clear banner and get a notification; unsharing revokes access immediately (#3314).
  • Find any channel instantly — a new quick filter above the Communicate list fuzzy-matches your channels as you type, surfacing matches regardless of which categories are collapsed. Ask Copera's conversation search now uses the same lighter control (#3311).
  • Cleaner archived sections — the Archived sections in Communicate and Boards now look like the rest of the sidebar, show per-type icons with a hover unarchive button, and disappear entirely when you have nothing archived (#3311).

Threads With Real Titles​

  • Threads named after what they're about — threads now take their title from the message that started them instead of "Thread #7", with the number kept as a small badge. You can rename a thread inline from its header, and existing threads were renamed automatically (#3301).
  • Find slices from anywhere — board slices now appear in global search and the command palette, so you can jump straight to one (#3301).

List View Retirement​

  • Convert your List views to Grid — every List view now shows a banner about the July 31 retirement with a one-click conversion, plus an option to convert every List view you can manage at once (#3321).

Bug Fixes​

  • Blank lookup values — lookup and rollup columns that showed up empty in the app and in CSV exports are repaired and now rebuild reliably, with a background repair pass that heals existing boards. Formula errors also render consistently as #ERROR! everywhere, with the detail available in a tooltip (#3318).
  • Email attachments — attachments between 10 MB and 25 MB no longer fail with a generic error; the real size limit is enforced and reported clearly (#3308).
  • Automations that validated but never ran — checkbox conditions written by the AI ("is checked"/"is not checked") now actually run, and single values on link, file, label, and people columns are accepted when creating a row (#3308).
  • Automation publishing crash — fixed the root cause of publish failures on some automations, plus a broad hardening pass: unknown operators and failed formulas now degrade gracefully with a translated warning in run history instead of breaking the run, and publish failures show exactly what to fix (#3319).
  • Action bar pins — opening a conversation from Recents no longer fails once you have many pins; the list now makes room by dropping the least recently used pin (#3308).
  • Booking verification — fixed the human-verification step that was blocking bookings on the public booking page (#3308).
  • Avatars — profile pictures are no longer center-cropped into unrecognizable squares; non-square images keep their proportions with a face-friendly crop, and the inbox header avatar no longer squeezes (#3319).
  • Read state across tabs — reading a conversation in one tab now clears the "new messages" divider in all your other tabs (#3319).
  • The zombie ringtone — a background tab left open for hours no longer erupts with a ringtone for a call that ended long ago; both call surfaces now stop ringing at the server's timeout (#3319).
  • Row templates — creating a row from a template no longer fails when the row includes checklist, file, or location columns (#3308).
  • Public API rows — fixed a server error when listing rows with certain description values, and number filters now accept the documented operator aliases (#3308).
  • CSV import, AI drawer, checklist templates and more — a batch of reported issues fixed across email, imports, and the AI drawer (#3308, #3317).

Improvements​

  • Better AI model selection — Copera now scores AI models per task category and routes each request to the model that actually performs best for it, so answers get better without you changing anything (#3303, #3307, #3310).
  • Deep research routing — deep research requests now go through the same model catalog as everything else, making them more consistent (#3304).
  • Mobile audio transcription — voice uploads from the mobile app in formats other than the browser's default now transcribe correctly (#3301).
