Kanban Reimagined, Checklist Columns & a More Capable Ask Copera

A big week: the Kanban view got a complete redesign with covers, inline editing and board backgrounds, a brand-new Checklist column brings Trello-style task lists to any board, and Ask Copera can now produce real downloadable files and work across all your boards. We also added chat stickers, read receipts, and a large wave of automation, booking, and chat fixes.

New Features

Kanban, Reimagined

A complete visual and interaction overhaul of the Kanban view (#3299):

• Richer cards — Trello-style cards with cover images, colored label and status chips, compact property rows, and a footer with description, comment, and attachment counts plus assignee avatars.
• Edit right on the card — change status, labels, people, dates, checkboxes, and text fields inline without opening the row, with a hover pencil to rename.
• Add cards in place — a hover "+" between cards opens a composer to create a card exactly where you want it, and new cards appear instantly. An "Add another list" tile lets you create a new lane on the fly.
• Board backgrounds — give a Kanban board one of eight hand-tuned gradient backdrops (ocean, sunset, dusk, forest, rose, sand, aurora, slate) or upload your own image; lanes turn lightly glassy so cards stay readable.
• Card covers — pick which image is used as a card's cover, tint lanes by their group color, collapse lanes you're not using, and enjoy smoother, more responsive drag-and-drop.

Checklists as a Column Type

• Trello-grade checklists on any board — a new Checklist column type lets you add task lists directly to rows, with a progress bar and count (for example "3/5"), inline renaming, drag-to-reorder, and a per-column option to hide completed items (#3300).
• Works everywhere — checklists show as a compact badge on Kanban cards that expands inline, filter and sort by completion or progress, roll up into dashboards, export and re-import cleanly (CSV, Excel, PDF), and can even be collected through public forms.
• Built for teamwork — two people ticking different items never overwrite each other, and each check records who completed it and when.

Ask Copera — Real Deliverables & Cross-Board Data

Ask Copera can now actually do the work you ask for instead of just describing it (#3292, #3283):

• Real file deliverables — export tables or generate documents as downloadable CSV, Excel, PDF, Markdown, HTML, or ZIP files, delivered as a download card in the chat.
• Work across all your boards — search and pull rows from multiple boards, run totals and averages (count, sum, average, min, max, median) with grouping, and bulk-create rows into another board with a review step before anything is written.
• Build board structure — create boards, tables, and columns straight from a conversation, with a review card and clear feedback on what was created.
• Honest about limits — when Ask Copera can't do something it now says so plainly, and destructive actions always require a review card first.

Stickers in Chat

• A new sticker picker — send stickers in conversations with trending, recent, and favorites tabs, search, and category chips; favorite the ones you love for quick reuse (#3285).

Message Read Receipts

• See who's read your message — read receipts are now available in group text channels and direct messages, showing reader avatars in a hover list (#3291).

More

• Named threads — threads now get a real title derived from their first message instead of "Thread #N", so they're easier to recognize in lists and headers; you can also rename a thread inline (#3301).
• Boards in global search — boards and their saved views now appear in the command palette (Cmd+K), so you can jump straight to any view.
• Note transcription — audio notes can now be transcribed automatically.

Bug Fixes

• Board import: re-importing your own exported spreadsheets no longer fails on phone numbers and other special values, and the import mapping step is clearer — with a discoverable skip-column toggle, smarter automatic matching, and a Continue button that always tells you exactly what's missing (#3282).
• Grid: Users, Created By, and Last Modified By cells always show a real name instead of an internal ID, even for members who have left the workspace (#3297).
• Pinned grid views: the cell editor and typed text are now visible when adding a row inside a side drawer, instead of appearing blank until you press Enter (#3289).
• Public forms: required fields that are hidden by a conditional rule no longer block valid submissions (#3290).
• Bookings & scheduling: fixed connecting Google Calendar, several seat and concurrency issues when multiple people book, approving or declining a booking straight from the email, and localized booking emails and dates (#3276, #3278).
• Tempo timeline: dense, overlapping events now pack neatly with a "+N more" overflow instead of stacking unreadably (#3287).
• Automations: run and step statuses are now translated, failed runs show a friendly localized message instead of raw error text, checkbox conditions evaluate correctly, and the node inspector's close button stays closed (#3297).
• Due-date reminders: people assigned to a row through an assignee column now receive due-date reminders, not just the row owner (#3297).
• Workload view: deactivated members no longer keep empty lanes, work assigned only to inactive people is routed to the unassigned bucket, and duration-based effort now saves correctly (#3297).
• Chat: reopening a thread now shows replies that arrived while it was closed, reply previews clamp cleanly to one line, the screen-record button no longer overlaps its timer, poll votes and message forwarding work reliably, and a render error in one conversation no longer takes down the whole panel (#3297).
• Contacts: contact lists now reflect additions and removals immediately (#3297).
• Reminders: recurring schedules that have already ended no longer fire reminders immediately (#3297).
• Voice channels: a leftover placeholder tile no longer lingers after someone is moved between rooms (#3297).
• Scheduler & calendars: the calendar toolbar wraps instead of overlapping on narrow screens, and week start now follows your locale so Sunday-first regions line up correctly (#3297).
• AI assistant: empty or unreadable attachments are now explained in the conversation instead of failing the whole request, links and headings stay in your language, and mobile replies come back in the language you asked in (#3297, #3301).
• AI image generation: long-running generations no longer drop the connection mid-stream, so the image reliably appears (#3301).
• Table settings: longer menu labels now wrap instead of being cut off, and the settings dialog lays out correctly (#3298, #3297).

Improvements

• Right-side drawer polish — the Ask Copera composer stays usable in narrow drawers, the transcriptions panel opens to the current month and gains a close button and an "All transcriptions" view, pinned views can be reordered by drag-and-drop, and the unsaved-changes dot now clears correctly on date-filtered views (#3281).
• Meeting bots — a quick credit check before a bot joins prevents starting a recording you don't have the credits to finish.
• Developer mode for boards — browse and copy column and option IDs from the grid, handy when building automations or API integrations (#3279).
