January 2026: 15+ New Features, 60+ Bug Fixes, and a Complete Video Refactor
Happy New Year! We've been heads down building, and we have a lot to share. Over the past six weeks, we shipped 15+ new features, 60+ bug fixes, and several major improvements across the entire platform. Here are the highlights.
We Heard You: Chat, Video & Notifications
Many of you reached out about issues with messages appearing in the wrong order, dropped video connections, and notification quirks. We took this feedback seriously and addressed all of it:
- Chat message ordering has been significantly improved. We fixed multiple issues that caused messages to appear out of order, and conversations now flow much more naturally. We're continuing to refine this — if you still notice anything off, please let us know through the new bug reporting form (more on that below).
- Video conferencing received a complete refactor. We rebuilt core components from the ground up, making muting, unmuting, and screen sharing feel snappy and instant. We've tested rooms with over 100 participants without disconnections — a major milestone for stability.
- Notifications have seen major improvements, and we're not stopping here. Throughout February, we're continuing to push updates to make notifications even more reliable. Our mobile app is also getting richer notifications with more context.
We fixed 60+ bugs in total across Chat, Boards, Documents, Drive, and more.
New: Sessions & Transcription Experience
We completely redesigned how meeting sessions work. Now, when you open a meeting channel, you'll find all your past sessions right there. Each session contains:
- All transcriptions with automatic speaker identification
- Whiteboards used during the meeting
- Documents shared in the session
- Session comments — the chat from that specific meeting
Plus: per-speaker audio playback, download & copy, and integrated video playback that syncs with the transcript.
AI-Powered Custom Actions
One of the most powerful additions: you can create custom AI actions saved per channel. For example, set up an "Internal Summary" action that generates a detailed meeting summary for your team, and a separate "Client Summary" action that creates an external-facing recap. Every time you record a new transcription, your saved actions are ready to generate exactly the summaries you need.

New: Board Dashboards & Workload View
Board Dashboards are now available in beta. Create custom dashboards with configurable widgets to visualize your project data — charts, summaries, progress tracking — all pulling live data from your boards.
The Workload View started as a beta and was quickly validated by our early users. It's now rolling out for everyone. Visualize how tasks are distributed across your team, see each member's capacity at a glance, and spot overloaded team members with color-coded indicators (green/yellow/red).
Boards also got smarter with AI-powered features:
- AI Formula Generation — Describe what you need in plain language and AI writes the formula
- AI Board Templates — Generate complete board structures from a description
- AI Row Creation — Quickly populate boards with AI-generated rows
- Advanced number formatting — Currency, percentages, decimals
- New formula functions including
ISBLANK - Password column type for using boards as a secure database

New: Chat Enhancements
Several features your team has been asking for:
- #channel mentions — Reference any channel in messages and board comments, just like Slack. Learn more
- Thread Center — A dedicated hub for all your threads. Browse every thread in one organized view, reply directly without leaving it, or click to jump into the full conversation
- Improved thread notifications — Better control over which threads you follow, with notifications that actually take you to the right place
- Forwarded message attribution — See who originally sent a forwarded message
- Group DM rename & convert — Name your group chats and turn DMs into groups. Learn more
- Workspace-level mute controls — Mute all channels at once or set your entire workspace to "Only Mentions" mode from Settings

Improved: Video Conferencing
Our video conferencing received a complete refactor. Beyond the stability improvements:
- Snappy controls — Muting, unmuting, and screen sharing respond instantly
- 100+ participant support — Tested and validated with great stability
- Fullscreen mode for distraction-free meetings
- Screen share limit (max 2 simultaneous) for better quality
- Resizable P2P video for one-on-one calls
- Meeting channel sounds with per-user preferences
- Double-click to connect option to prevent accidental joins

Command Palette: Your Shortcut to Everything
We want to make sure you know about the Command Palette — press / (forward slash) anywhere in Copera and a powerful search bar appears. From there you can:
- Search for any document, channel, board row, or person
- Navigate to any channel or section without clicking through menus
- Join a meeting channel directly from the results
- Create a new row in any board without navigating to it
- Send a message to a channel or person without leaving what you're doing
Once you start using it, you'll wonder how you worked without it.

DocSign: Fully Available
Copera DocSign is ready for everyone. Send documents for signature, manage signers, and automatically save signed documents — all within Copera.
New: Public Documents with Optional SEO
Published documents can now be crawlable by search engines, and this is entirely optional. Toggle crawlability on or off for each public document, so you stay in full control. Make your help center discoverable through Google while keeping other shared documents private.

- Drive — Drag and drop entire folders for upload, plus bulk downloads and Office file support (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Learn more

Desktop App Updates
We shipped two major updates for Windows and macOS:
- Improved search — Faster in-app search
- Auto-start fixed — The app now properly starts with Windows
- Network stability — Better handling of network changes and reconnection
- Video conferencing — Fixed issues joining video calls
- Better updates — Smoother app update process
Mobile App Updates
Our iOS & Android apps are receiving significant improvements:
- Better call handling — Receiving and joining calls is more reliable
- Faster messaging — Receiving messages and mentions is noticeably faster
- Richer notifications — More context and information at a glance
- Smoother animations — More polished overall experience
Beta Features: Virtual Office & Inbox
Two exciting features in open beta:
Virtual Office — A visual workspace where your team is represented in interactive rooms. Walk into a room to start talking, see who's available, and recreate the spontaneous interactions of a real office.
Copera Inbox — A full email client inside Copera. Send, receive, and manage emails without leaving your workspace. Shared team inboxes, signatures, threads, attachments, and more.

Copera Goes Global
After Web Summit Lisbon in November, we kicked off February at Web Summit Qatar, and the response has been incredible. We've welcomed new clients from the Middle East and Europe, and we're just getting started.
