Virtual Office

Beta

Virtual Office is currently in open beta. To get early access, email [email protected]. Beta features may have occasional instability — your feedback helps us shape the final product.

Copera Virtual Office brings the feeling of being in a real office to your remote team. See where your colleagues are, walk into rooms to start spontaneous conversations, and recreate the organic interactions that make in-person work special.

What is Virtual Office?

Virtual Office is a visual, interactive workspace where your team members are represented in a virtual floor plan. Instead of scheduling meetings or sending messages, you can simply "walk" into a room to start talking with whoever is there — just like you would in a physical office.

Key features

Interactive rooms

Your Virtual Office is made up of rooms that represent different spaces:

  • Common areas — Open spaces where anyone can drop by
  • Meeting rooms — Dedicated spaces for team discussions
  • Focus rooms — Quiet areas for concentrated work
  • Social spaces — Break rooms and casual hangout areas

Custom room icons

Personalize each room with custom icons to make your virtual office feel unique and easy to navigate. Admins can select from a library of icons to visually represent each room's purpose.

Real-time presence

  • See at a glance who is in each room
  • Know when colleagues are available, busy, or away
  • Get a bird's-eye view of your entire team's location in the office

Spontaneous conversations

  • Click on a room to join it instantly
  • Start voice or video conversations just by being in the same room
  • Leave a room when you're done — just like walking away in real life

Getting started

  1. Your workspace admin sets up the Virtual Office layout
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Office section in your workspace
  3. You'll see the office floor plan with rooms and team members
  4. Click on any room to enter it
  5. When someone else is in the same room, you can start talking immediately

Use cases

Remote team bonding

Create a virtual break room where team members can hang out during lunch or coffee breaks. Foster the casual interactions that build team culture.

Quick syncs

Instead of scheduling a meeting, check if your colleague is in their office and drop in for a quick 2-minute conversation.

Office hours

Set up office hours in a specific room. Team members know they can come find you there during those times.

Team zones

Create dedicated areas for different departments. Engineering, Design, and Marketing each get their own space, but can easily visit each other.

tip

Virtual Office works great alongside Copera's Meeting Channels for seamless communication. Use Virtual Office for quick, spontaneous chats and Meeting Channels for longer, scheduled meetings.
