Inbox Overview
Inbox is currently in open beta. To get early access, email [email protected]. Beta features may have occasional instability — your feedback helps us shape the final product.
Copera Inbox is a full-featured team email client built directly into your workspace — a shared inbox where multiple team members receive, read, compose, and reply to emails without ever switching to Gmail or Outlook. You connect a custom domain (like [email protected]), assign specific teammates to each inbox, and every email conversation appears as a threaded discussion that the whole team can collaborate on. Inbox includes rich signatures, folder organization, starring, read/unread sync across members, AI classification through Super Copera Email, and inline calendar invitation banners — everything a modern shared inbox needs, without the context switching.
Key Features
- Receive and send email --- Incoming messages appear as threaded conversations inside Copera, and you can compose new emails or reply directly from the interface, complete with CC, BCC, and file attachments.
- Shared team access --- Multiple team members can view and respond to the same inbox, making it easy to collaborate on customer support, sales inquiries, or any shared mailbox.
- Custom domains --- Connect your own domain (e.g.,
[email protected]) so emails are sent and received from your professional address. - Email signatures --- Create rich-text signatures that are automatically appended to outgoing messages, with support for per-inbox defaults.
- Folder organization --- Emails are organized into standard folders --- Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Archived, Spam, and Trash --- so you can keep conversations tidy.
- Flagging and read status --- Star important emails and track which messages have been read across the team.
Who Can Create Inboxes?
Only workspace administrators can create new inboxes. This ensures that domain verification, email addresses, and team access are set up deliberately and securely. Regular members and viewers cannot create inboxes on their own.
How Members See Inboxes
Inbox channels only appear in the sidebar for members who have been explicitly assigned to that inbox. If you have not been added as a participant, the inbox will not be visible to you. Workspace administrators can see and manage all inboxes from Workspace Settings, even if they are not a direct participant.
Getting Started
Setting up your first inbox involves a few steps:
- Domain Setup --- Verify your custom domain by adding the required DNS records.
- Creating an Inbox --- Configure the inbox name, email address, and team members.
- Managing Inbox Access --- Add or remove members and assign roles.
- Sending & Receiving Email --- Start sending and receiving emails through your new inbox.
- Managing Emails --- Organize, flag, archive, and move emails across folders.
- Email Signatures --- Create and apply professional email signatures.
- AI Email Intelligence --- Enable AI-powered classification, spam guard, auto-trash, follow-up detection, thread summaries, and draft replies.
- Calendar Invitations --- View and respond to calendar invitations directly inside your inbox.
Inbox Channel Pricing
Inbox channels are included with your paid seats and pool at the workspace level — just like AI credits and storage:
- 1 inbox channel per Pro seat — added to the shared workspace pool.
- 5 inbox channels per Max seat — added to the shared workspace pool.
- $5 per extra channel — flat rate on any plan, no plan discount.
For example, a workspace with 5 Pro seats gets 5 pooled inbox channels. If you need a sixth (say, to add a billing@ alongside support@, sales@, etc.), it costs a flat $5/month — on every plan, no matter how many paid seats you have. There is no minimum or maximum number of extra channels.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Copera Inbox and Gmail?
Copera Inbox is a shared team email client built inside your Copera workspace. Unlike Gmail, every inbox can be shared with multiple teammates who all see the same conversations, read status is synced across members, and AI features (classification, spam guard, auto-trash, follow-up tracking, draft replies) are built in. You connect your own domain, so emails still arrive at addresses like [email protected] — the difference is where you read and reply to them.
Do I need a custom domain to use Copera Inbox?
Yes, Copera Inbox is designed around custom domains. You verify your domain (for example, yourcompany.com) by adding a set of DNS records, then configure inbox addresses like [email protected] or [email protected]. This keeps your professional email identity intact.
Can I use Copera Inbox as a personal email client?
Copera Inbox is optimized for shared team inboxes (support, sales, billing, partnerships). It supports single-member inboxes, but its architecture and AI features shine brightest when multiple teammates collaborate on the same email conversations.
Who can create a new inbox?
Only workspace administrators can create new inboxes in Copera. This ensures that domain verification, email addresses, and team access are set up deliberately and securely.
What happens to older emails when I connect a domain to Copera Inbox?
Copera Inbox starts receiving mail the moment your MX records point to Copera. Historical email stored in your previous provider is not migrated automatically. If you need historical email, export it from your previous provider before switching over.
Is Copera Inbox available on mobile?
Yes. Copera Inbox works in the Copera mobile app and in mobile browsers. New email pushes notify you on your phone, and read status syncs across desktop, web, and mobile.
