Copera's board AI features help you work faster with your structured data. Instead of manually filling in fields one by one or struggling with formula syntax, you can describe what you want in plain language and let AI handle the details.

AI Row Creation

AI Row Creation lets you describe a new row in natural language and have the AI automatically determine the correct values for each column in your table.

How It Works

  1. Open the row creation dropdown in your board table.
  2. Select the AI option (marked with a sparkles icon).
  3. Describe the row you want to create in the text field. For example: "New task for Maria to review the Q3 budget report, due next Friday, high priority."
  4. Press Enter or click the Generate button.
  5. The AI analyzes your table structure --- column names, types, and existing data --- and generates appropriate values for each field.
  6. A new row is created with the AI-generated values already filled in.

Voice Input

If typing is inconvenient, you can use voice input to describe your row:

  1. Click the microphone button in the AI Row Creation input field.
  2. Speak your description naturally. The speech is transcribed in real time and appended to the text field.
  3. Click the microphone button again to stop recording.
  4. Review the transcribed text and click Generate to create the row.

Voice input supports your workspace language (English, Spanish, or Portuguese) and works with the browser's built-in speech recognition.

Tips for AI Row Creation

  • Be specific --- Include the values you want for key fields. "Marketing task due tomorrow" is good; "New task for the marketing team to prepare social media assets for the product launch, assigned to Carlos, due December 15, status In Progress" is better.
  • Reference columns --- The AI understands your column names. If you have a column called "Priority," mentioning "high priority" in your description will map to that field.
  • Multiple rows --- Describe one row at a time for the most accurate results.

AI Formula Assistant

The Formula Assistant helps you create board formulas without needing to memorize function names or syntax. Describe the calculation you want, and the AI will write the formula for you.

How It Works

  1. Open the formula editor for any formula column in your board.
  2. Click the Ask AI button (sparkles icon) below the formula input field.
  3. Describe what you want to calculate in plain language. For example: "Calculate the total cost by multiplying quantity times unit price."
  4. Press Enter or click the send button.
  5. The AI generates a formula using the correct function syntax and column references for your table.
  6. The generated formula appears with a typewriter animation, and once complete, it is automatically inserted into the formula editor.

Refining Formulas

If you already have a formula and want to modify it, the AI Formula Assistant understands your current formula and can help adjust it:

  • "Add a 10% tax to this calculation"
  • "Round the result to 2 decimal places"
  • "Change this to only count rows where status is Complete"

The assistant sees your existing formula and all available columns (with their types), so it can make precise adjustments.

What the AI Understands

When generating formulas, the AI has access to:

  • All columns in the current table, including their names and data types (text, number, date, status, etc.).
  • The current formula (if you are editing an existing one).
  • Available formula functions --- Copera boards support 100+ formula functions for math, text, dates, logic, and aggregation.
tip

The Formula Assistant works best when you describe the desired outcome rather than the technical implementation. Instead of "Use IF and SUMPRODUCT functions," try "Show the total revenue only for deals marked as Won." The AI will choose the appropriate functions automatically.

AI Board Templates

When creating a new board, you can use AI to generate a complete board structure from a description. Instead of starting from scratch or selecting a pre-built template, describe what you need and AI will create the board with appropriate columns, field types, and sample data.

How It Works

  1. Click Create Board in your workspace.
  2. Select the AI option to generate a board from a description.
  3. Describe the board you need. For example: "A project tracker for a marketing team with columns for task name, assignee, priority, status, due date, and budget."
  4. AI generates the board structure with the columns, field types, statuses, and labels that match your description.
  5. Review the generated board and customize as needed.

AI Board Templates save significant setup time, especially for common board types like project trackers, CRMs, content calendars, and inventory management.
