AI Pipeline Health Report, Sent Daily
By the end of this recipe you'll get a daily read on your sales pipeline — which deals are at risk, where the forecast stands, and what moved — posted straight to your sales channel, without anyone building a spreadsheet. A pipeline report is a read-and-narrate job: someone has to look across every open deal, spot the ones slipping, and write it up. Because your deals, activity, and chat all live in one workspace, Copera AI can read the whole board and do that narration for you.
Readiness: Available now — ask Copera AI on demand, backed by at-risk automations that flag deals the moment they slip. A single named teammate that reads the whole pipeline and posts the report on its own daily schedule is rolling out in early access.
What it does
Every morning you want the same three questions answered: What's at risk? What's the forecast? What changed? This recipe answers them in one channel post, and it works in two layers:
- An always-on early-warning layer (automations). Small automations on your pipeline board flag each deal the moment it starts to slip — a close date passes, a deal goes quiet, a stage stalls. They set a Risk status and nudge the owner, so your "at risk" view is always current and nothing goes stale in silence.
- A daily narrated report (Ask Copera AI). On demand, Copera AI reads the whole board, lists the at-risk deals, estimates a forecast weighted by each stage's probability, calls out the biggest movers, and posts the summary to your sales channel — @mentioning the owner of each deal that needs attention.
Splitting it this way is what keeps the report trustworthy: the automations keep the data honest deal-by-deal, and Copera AI turns that honest data into a narrative your team can read in ten seconds. Nothing in the report leaves the workspace — it's an internal summary for your reps, not an email to a customer.
Build it yourself
The daily report itself is a read-and-narrate task, and the fastest way to produce it is to ask Copera AI (next section). What you build here is the early-warning layer — automations that keep your board honest by flagging each deal the moment it starts to slip, so the report Copera AI writes is always accurate.
One-time setup
Open your CRM or pipeline board and make sure the deals table has the columns a report needs to read: Stage (a status column), Amount (number), Close Date (date), Owner (people), and a Risk status column with options like On track, At risk, and Slipping. Add a Probability number to each stage (or a per-deal probability) so the forecast can be weighted. If you're not sure how columns fit together, see Boards Overview.
Create a saved view on the table filtered to Risk is At risk (or Slipping), sorted by Amount descending. This becomes your live at-risk queue — the automations below keep it populated, and it's the first thing to open when the report flags something.
Automation 1 — flag overdue deals
On the pipeline board, add an automation with a Date reached trigger set to fire on the Close Date (you can also fire a set number of days before, to warn you ahead of the slip).
Add a condition that only continues when the deal is still open — for example, Stage is not Closed Won and not Closed Lost. A won or lost deal isn't "at risk," so this keeps the flag meaningful.
Add a Set field action to set Risk → At risk. The deal now appears in your At Risk view automatically.
Add a Send direct message (or Send notification) action to the deal's Owner, so the rep who owns it hears about it the moment the close date passes — not only when the daily report goes out.
Automation 2 — flag deals that went quiet
Add a second automation with a Date reached trigger using the “N days after the last comment” option — for example, 7 days after the last activity on the deal. If your team logs calls and notes as row comments, this catches deals that have gone silent.
Add the same condition as before — only continue if the deal isn't already Won or Lost.
Add a Set field action (Risk → At risk) and a Send direct message to the Owner — "This deal has been quiet for a week; time for a touch?"
To also catch deals stuck in one stage too long, stamp a Stage entered date with a Set date to now action whenever Stage changes (a Field changed trigger), then run a Date reached automation N days after that date to flag the ones that haven't moved. Same pattern, a different clock.
Everything above uses documented Automation blocks — see the full list in Automations. What automations don't do on their own is read across your whole pipeline and narrate a single summary — that's the read-heavy job Copera AI is built for, next.
Or just ask Copera AI
This is the fastest path to the actual daily report, and the one we recommend. Open Ask Copera AI and ask for it in plain English:
"Read our Sales Pipeline board and give me today's pipeline health report. Include total open pipeline and a weighted forecast by stage, every deal that's past its close date or has had no activity in 7+ days, and the three biggest deals that slipped a stage this week. Post it as a summary in the #sales channel and @mention each at-risk deal's owner."
Ask Copera AI reads and searches your workspace data, so it opens the pipeline board, reasons about which deals are at risk against the rule you gave it, multiplies each open deal's amount by its stage probability to weight the forecast, and drafts the summary. Then it posts a channel message to #sales. With the default Ask before acting permission mode, it shows you the drafted message on a review card before it posts — you read it, edit a line if you like, and approve. It only ever reads deals and posts to channels your own account can already reach. See the full capability list in What Copera AI Can Do.
A few useful variations of the same ask:
- Keep it private first. Swap "Post it in #sales" for "DM it to me" to get a personal morning read before anything is shared.
- Time your follow-ups. Add "…and check my calendar and suggest a good slot today to call the two biggest at-risk deals." Copera AI can read your schedule and factor it in.
- Drill in. After the report posts, ask "Which of these has the largest amount and no next step?" — it's already looking at the same board.
To get this daily, just ask each morning (dictate it hands-free with Bankai voice if you're heads-down), or save the prompt somewhere handy and reuse it. For a version that runs entirely on its own, see the next section.
Make it a standing teammate
AI teammates are rolling out gradually. If you don't see them in your workspace yet, they're on the way — everything in this guide can be built today as an Automation plus an on-demand ask to Copera AI.
When one is available, you can put a named teammate — a "Pipeline Analyst" — in charge of this whole report. On its own daily schedule and under its own identity, it reads your pipeline board, writes the health report, and posts it to your sales channel — no one has to ask. A teammate's read tools are always on and posting to channels is opt-in; it can't delete data or send anything outside your workspace, so the report stays a safe, internal briefing. Until then, the automations above plus the on-demand ask do the same job today. Learn more in AI Teammates.
Tips
Define "at risk" once, in your columns. Decide the rule — past close date, N days silent, stuck in a stage, no next step — and encode it in board columns. Then your automations and your Ask Copera AI prompt apply the same definition every day, and the report stays consistent instead of drifting.
Keep last activity honest. Staleness detection is only as good as your data. Have reps log calls and notes as row comments (or stamp a Last Activity date), so "no activity in 7 days" actually means the deal is cold — not just that no one updated the board. Pair this with the stale-lead follow-up recipe.
Ask for a weighted forecast. Put a win probability on each stage and tell Copera AI to weight by it. "Weighted forecast" (amount × probability) is far more useful to a sales leader than a raw sum of everything open, and it's grounded in numbers already on your board rather than a guess.
Review before it posts, then trust it. Keep the default Ask before acting mode so you see each report on a review card before it hits the channel. After a week of clean reports, you'll know exactly what to expect — and you can always DM it to yourself first for a private read.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Copera AI generate a sales pipeline health report?
Yes. Ask Copera AI reads your pipeline board, finds the deals that are at risk — past their close date, gone quiet, or slipping — estimates a forecast weighted by each stage's probability, and posts the summary to your sales channel. It runs on demand today, and by default shows you the message for approval before it posts.
Can I get the pipeline report automatically every day?
Today you get it on demand: ask Copera AI each morning, or save the prompt and reuse it. You can also build automations that flag individual deals the moment they go at risk, so your report is always accurate. A single named AI teammate that reads the whole pipeline and posts the report on its own daily schedule is rolling out in early access.
How does Copera decide which deals are at risk?
You define it, using columns already on your board. Common signals are a close date that has already passed, no activity or comment in the last several days, a deal stuck in one stage too long, or a missing next step. Ask Copera AI reads those columns and applies the same rule every time.
Does the pipeline report send anything to customers?
No. It posts an internal summary to your sales channel or direct-messages it to you. Nothing goes to a customer. Ask Copera AI always acts as you and within your own permissions, so it can only read the deals and post to the channels your account can already reach.
What does Copera read to build the forecast?
Your deals table — the columns that hold each deal's amount, stage, close date, and owner. If you put a win probability on each stage, Copera weights the forecast by multiplying amount by probability. The more consistent your board data, the sharper the report.
